The timeline should make it easier to move to old versions by allowing it to enter the date directly. On old repositories with years of history and more than a few thousand commits, it is currently very hard to browse back other than editing the URL directly.
drh added on 2010-11-01 23:08:10: ?c=1970-01-01 (or some other date) to the end of the URL, if you like. That is what I normally do.
